I wasn't in a very sweet and forgiving mood when I saw P.S I Love You - that could have something to do with my reaction to it. Another day I might have enjoyed it more.

P.S I loathed it! Couldn't agree with you more, Megan. Let's hope there will be some really GOOD movies this year, without oirish accents.

I feel the same way about Ozzie accents in movies. Sometimes they are just SOOOOO over the top it makes me cringe.

That's interesting Nicc!
Glad to hear you agree with me, Susanne!
I think The Kite Runner is the best Film I've seen in the last couple of months. I also really enjoyed Michael Clayton with George Clooney and Tilda Swantan (may be spelled wrong.) Oh, and Atonement. I loved James McEvoy in that one. Swoon! He played the part of Robbie so well. I love his character in the book.

We had a meeting the other day and the first question was.............anybody with good fund raising ideas?? i had to laugh and told them about the film. Thye all loved the idea of a calendar but not the taking off of the cloths, lol
It was a great film by the way

I was hoping to go and see PS I Love You, last night. Lucky enough I checked the listings before I left as it doesn't seem to be showing anymore in the cinema I go too.
It didn't last long at all in the flicks. They must be eager to get it to DVD now.

I saw Ps at the weekend..it was alright, didnt like the accents and I only copped after it was over the guy who was playing the hubbie was the phantom of the opera in the new version....i knew I recognized his name.... it was very stereotypical that when they came to Ireland , it was too a farm? couldnt it have been one of the many big houses around wicklow and not a farm with a tractor chugging down the road...that annoyed me..that they think that ireland is nothing but pubs & farms....the accents were so bad in it..my sis and I were roaring laughing over them.... again the book was better than the film......

Just watched a film called 1408, an adaptation of the Stephen King short story. Really good on the suspense front, but there is one unanswered question in it that annoyed me! I just went browsing there to see if anyone had an answer for it, but it seems to be one of those plot twists you just have to accept! There is also a totally different ending for the UK & Ireland than there is for the US - we have the Director's Cut ending. That also annoyed me! One ending for everyone, I say!

I haven't heard about Stardust Angie, I must look it up on the net as I love Robert De Niro, and Michelle Pfeiffer. Last film I saw her in was One Fine Day. I loved that movie. I haven't been keeping up to date on the movies in the past couple of years as I don't really rent them anymore. I've probably missed out on loads of good ones. Can you recommend some more? I'm still here, have Dirty Money on in the backround here, multi-tasking!!! LOL. That was strange Shirley. Nothing as annoying as getting to the end of a movie and not having a proper ending. It's very frustrating. How are you doing by the way? Hope all's ok with you.
