hi Mary, just back from my hols and I bought the last copy of Love Match in my mothers local book shop! It was fab, I lapped up every word. I finished when I was ther and everytime I put it down my mother picked it up. My sister has grabed it too so I can't send it on to anyone, sorry. But truely wonderful. I too loved Tina, great to read about a couple that can handel the good and bad times.

Mary, what a page turner! I keep thinking back to the characters. My favourites being Tina, Ray and their large family. I felt so sorry for Jennifer and even though they only had a small part in the book I really liked reading about her parents too. I loved the scene in which her father tries to but some fight back into Jennifer who has lost all her confidence living with a man like George. All the characters seemed so life like. The story was very authentic.
PS There was only a few remaining copies left of 'Love Match' in Liffey Valley. They were almost sold out. I was delighted with my signed copy!

Thanks so much, Susan! You are a pure pet ! I love hearing about my 'gang of characters' as to be honest they are like old friends at this stage. Many readers found Tina and Ray to be their favourites and I too loved Jennifer's parents.....while they were trying not to interfere in her marriage, it was breaking their hearts.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and it's great that they are selling so well. I was in bookshops in West Cork yesterday and most were waiting on new orders and found they've had to keep restocking it!
thanks again, I hope you are still writing, Mary.

That's great about your book selling so well Mary - congratulations!
Tina was my favourite character too - not so much Ray but I will save that for the bookclub discussion!

Hi Mary, Am loving the book so far. And really haven't been on the Net as every free moment is spent reading it!! I can't believe it's your first book. It's so well written. I think I have learned something from your book too. It's amazing how within the first 3-4 chapters, you have such a good idea of who the characters are, and what makes them tick, what their weak and strong points are - it's just so well written to say that in that short space of time, the reader knows the characters. Will be in touch soon, Hugs R

That's brilliant and I'm glad you said that about slotting in quickly to the characters. It's brilliant because it's something I'm conscious of when writing. looking forward to your end opinion, Mary

Finished!! And not surprisingly Mary, the ending didn't disappoint. It was a wonderful read, with a really fulfilling ending. I hate books that slope off towards the end and yours certainly didn't! When is book no. 2 out?! Hugs R

Book number 2 out in July 2007 (all going well!) Am slowly working on book 3 at the mo. I have a short story in Party Animal which is a book of short stories coming out for Christmas. Patricia Scanlan, Cathy Kelly, Maeve Binchy and loads of the terrific Irish girls authors have stories in it. So it should be a good read! Mary.

Hiya all! I'm new to this forum, but have just been reading the comments about this book by MM and really want to read it, however, it doesn't seem to be available on Amazon, e-bay or anywhere like that. Was it only released in Ireland? Thanks. Joanne.
