Good evening all So how many peopl have read It Had to Be You? I for one loved it. I wanted to move to Burnaby because I fell so in love with the place Most of all I wished that the book shop was only around the corner from me. I would have loved to have worked in the shoe shop, not that I know much about all these brand names, but still Don't know what else to say just yet. What are your opinions on the story? claire

Thank God someone else turned up ;D I was begining to wonder if there were problems with the site or something. I know that Susan, Fran and Cillian can't make it, and they love to be here.
It was a lovely read about three friends living in a village called Burnaby. It sounded like a great place to be. One girl molly, worked in a wonderful book shop that sold mostly romantic fiction and had just split with her long term boyfriend and he was stalking her. Kate worked in a designer shoe shop and practilly ran the plac. But was running from someone. And then there was Paige, wife, mother and running for election.
Want to know more?

Maybe not! Well, I liked the book - the setting was great. It had a real fairy tale feel to it too - anyone else think this? Not sure if it's my favourite of Sarah's books though - I loved Always a Bridesmaid. Bennie

Sorry, Claire, I'm a question behind you. The characters each had a chapter of their own and the story focused on each one in turn. It was a clever way of doing it as you don't get confused. All the characters were quite believable - I liked the mum with the mad son. Bennie

Hiya Bennie when are you going to be a member?? Sign up girl, I promise it's painless ;D
Each chapter tells about each girl. Like chapter 1 and then a little drawing of a girl and then the name Molly. so you know it's going to be mostly about her. And so it continues. Molly and Paige knew each other from school and have always been good friends. They knew Kate but only got to know her properly when she moved in to Mollys house. They regulary went to the local cafe for coffe and a chat.
One more thing kate worked part-time in the shoe shop and was trying to set up her own buisness helping men to find dates and how to behave on a date. 'Dummie Date' it was called.

Back again - sorry - my little boy, Jamie, had woken up. Back to the book - but before that - what age are yours, Charlie if you're back. I think the title is a song isn;t it? And three times a lady is a song - are they all song titles? maybe Sarah will log on and tell us tomorrow

Hi again, Jamie is nearly 2 and Dan is eight (quite a gap I know!). Re odd things in the book - I was just interested - it's not the kind of book you could really dislike I think - maybe because the whole village - Burnaby - sounded so safe and nice. Like I said before - like a fairy tale. Real escapism - what we all need at the end of a long day. I miss commuting - I used to read and read when I got the train. But I'm at home with the kids now - you'd think I'd get lots of time to read, but no!! B

Don't worry I'm back. Just logged off for a min because the connection was very slow. It was taken ages to post and check the site and I had no background pictures. Anyone else having problems. It's much better now. And the kids are sleeping nicely( touch wood)

Hi Again, This will have to be my last post I'm afraid as my other son is still up (watching a film) and I have to get him into bed!! I'm a terrible mother, he should have gone ages ago. We live in Kilcoole, near Delgany. By the sea which is nice. With a mad dog!! I'll post again tomorrow if I can think of any more things on the book - and join up as a member hopefully. Best to you both. What's the book for next time? Colette Caddle has a new one out I saw? Maybe that? Final word on the book - it was warm, sweet, great characters, lots of funny moments, a kind sort of book if this makes sense. maybe could have been a little more realistic - but when there's so much gritty things happening on the tv and in real life - it's nice to get away from it all - so maybe not! Best, Bennie (Benita, my friends call me Bennie)
