We agreed the writers wouldn't get involved, but there's nothing to stop anyone who's here now from getting started- go on, be brave- who's going first?

Hi girls!!! Leah here! I'm back!
I wonder where Lisa is - hope she's alright...
I just finished the book on time and I have to say it almost put me off reading!!!! I'm not one of those anti-Cecelia people as I did love her first book but this one was tough going!
It took me a long 3 weeks to read - after I read Tracy Culleton's Loving Lucy and that took me 3 days!!! Do ye get my drift?

Hi everyone - I just came in to see what was happening - will have to go in a minute to make Kate's lunch! Like nic says, it's 7.20am here, so a very good morning/evening to you. Will check back in about half an hour to see if anything's still going on. I haven't seen the book either, nic, so afraid I can't contribute.

Gosh Joan you're keen. I always say I'm going to get up at 6 when Tianna wakes and do aerobics but never do. I'm a bit lazy like that. Have fun making the lunches and hopefully hear from you soon.

For those of you who don't know the story - the whole of the book is written in e-mail, letter and text form - I found this really frustrating at times because you never really got to read anything that was happening live - and there was never any sense of the outside world at all.
Rosie and Alex have known each other since they were practically toddlers - best friends - even here it begins with passing notes to eachother at school etc. Then Alex moves to the US as a teenager and they keep contact via e-mail throughout a vast almost 40 years.
Rosie, in Dublin seems to only have contact with her family and her best friend via e-mail!! Some of them are bloody pages long!!! I found it totally unrealistic! I mean she's supposed to be working - but all she's doing really is e-mailing. I got bored with it -
I'll pop this mail off and see now who else is writing....

I'm the same, the air glider has been standing in the dinning room for three months now gathering dust. Everyday I say I must get up on the thing but always find a reason not to!

At the moment it just seems that it is all up to you Leah. I've read another book like that but can't remember the name, it was ages ago but I don't think I liked it very much.

Rosie and Alex secretly feel that they're in love with eachother but they're too afraid to admit it - and so both of them end getting married and having children with other people - and of course each of them hate the other's spouse's. Even their children end up starting to write to eachother - some of these letters were cutely written I suppose...
I didn't really like Rosie's character that much - she kind of bugged me. She never seemed to grow up throughout the novel. There was one scene where I almost gave up reading because I got so irritated. She's online with Alex and he's telling her why he hasn't been in touch with her for a while and throughout the whole dialogue in words, Rosie only ever answers 'why' after each thing he writes - you know like a 5 year old would 'why'? 'why?''why"?' There was 18 why's?! And she was in her 30's at the time! I thought it was ridiculous reading

Just down to Canberra to see the step daughters. Maddie has a dancing concert on so we will be going to that on Sat night. We are staying with Andrew parents they haven't seen Tianna for a few months so I think they will get a surprise over how much she has changed. She wasn't even crawling last time they saw her!

Hi, Just back from kiddies swimming lessons, so decided to look in here. I'm afraid I haven't read the book, so It's just as well I'm not allowed to post. I'm interested to hear other peoples' opinions though, then I'll decide whether to buy it or not. Judi
