I am teaching Creative Writing in a booklined room above my local bookshop. I have classesfor adults, children and teenagers. They're going really well. One adult said it is the most fun she's ever had! I love teaching this subject and am able to get a lot of writing done myself during class (while they're writing). I think I've found my thing and a way to make money. It's great!

Ah, thanks Oonagh. It's to be working again and it is wonderful that teaching is feeding my own writing. I'm also learning from my students - particularly the children. Their imaginations are so wide open!

Yeah, they could certainly help me. I've been reading a few children's books lately and have come to the conclusion that many of them are FAR better than the ones written for adults - more humurous, intelligent and honest. I might switch to young adult fiction for the next few months!

Morning, Angie
My soon-to-be-6-year-old grandaughter is learning gymnastics; her 3 1/2-year-old brother does gymnastics anyway!
Yours sound a lively and healthy lot! Not sure if I'd care to 'encounter' any of them, in a narrow space! :-)
Well done to one and all!
Imelda

Take you time doing it and make sure you take breaks Oons even a walk around a block is a good way to clear the head and wake the brain up again...thats what they told the kids to do when you are faced with a big assignment...I love taking a hot bath to clear my head..a few scented candles & the hot water can do you the world of good...I always feel like a new person after it....
Went back singing this morning 1st time after the teeth job, wasnt to bad still a slight problem with diction..prob need to do a few exercises at home to get the speech back to normal...esp with Christmas carols coming...lots of songs with the words peace in it...lol....

I never thought about the trouble with speech after getting your teeth done! As long as the teeth don't pop out while you're singing

I was afraid of that...lol...keep pushing them back up even though I had a ton of glue on them to keep them in...You get a bit of a lisp when they are new till you get used to them and words with TH are a bit awkward as well...I'll just have to practice till i feel a bit more comfortable..we have a lot of singing to do before christmas, we go to the hospital & the old folks homes and sing carols for them..as well as the big masses in the catherdal as well..lot of work to do for christmas... ;D

Delighted to hear the writing classes are doing so well Megan. What great fodder for your next book - you could write about the lives of all your students!

Thanks Susan and Angie. Yes, they are great fodder for writing. I just so enjoy being with my students. Today I began an after school class for boys in a local primary school. The boys are about ten years old and so cute. I loved the class and feel really luck to be doing it. At last I have found a way to make money that I enjoy! Long may it last!

Hi Girls
How are you all? Got so much to catch up on.
I had a day trip put to Dublin on Saturday, some of you girls live in a fabulous part of the world. I loved it. There was 17 of us who met up there.
Went into Easons to see all the Irish autors on the shelves as its not as popular in England, I could have stayed in the bookstore for ages. I looked for Hughes and Hughes but could not find it only the one in the Airport.
A Little Help From my Friends and cant wait to read it.
Cant wait to go back to Dublin and maybe stay a little longer
Hope everyone is ok and i will catch you all soon xx

Hi Emma,
I'm delighted you enjoyed Dublin. I am very fond of the place, especially Grafton Street, Powerscourt town house, Trinity College, Nassau St, St Stephen's Green, O'Connell Street and bridge - gosh I could go on and on. I love the way it is on the sea too.

Megan am only noticing your post about the creative writing classes now! My head is well and truly up the left these days! I can't think of anything more perfect for you and am so jealous as that is something I would love to do myself! I know that you would be a great teacher as they are always the ones who are passionate about their subject of choice!!
Best of luck missus!
P.S. that book lined room sounds like a good opening for a short story! We haven't had any of those in a while xoxo

Have a great time Claire. The weather is good at the moment just a bit nippy! You missed the heavy rain last week anyway. You should have Mary's book by the time you get home.

i was in town from 10am till 2.30 waiting for my car and he never even looked at it...my mechanic went to the doctor discovered he had a broken finger!!!when i was in the library I heard sirens going and i was hoping it was'nt the fire brigade but it was and the driver of the fire engine is my mechanic....so i wasted the whole day in town so the car is in there again today and my friend dropped me home this time...it was so horrible & wet in town yesterday I wasnt spending the day in there again...
it was only a minor accident he was called too yesterday afternoon but he was called out again last night to another car accident...very tragic...2 little girls have lost their lives a 6 yr old & 9 year old...they are from longford...very very sad...you would want to be a very brave person to deal with something like that..
