well theres a new guy being advertised on the tv at the minute, cant think of his name, but hes like a new dod...he even looks a bit like him, sounds the same too..i'll look out for the ad again and get his name for ya..... gosh forgot about enya, i like her myself, have a tape of hers.. you'll have to get to a ceili when you get here...they are mighty craic......and of course a banquet...thats a major irish experience...you can go in either bunratty or Knappogue (nap-ou-ge) castle...brilliant night out...well worth doing..they are both in co.clare....pity you arent here for the summer coz you would love the willie clancy week in spanish point/miltown malbay...its a week long summer school and they teach traditional irish instruments to people from all over the world.the atmosphere is amazing and the craic is untold....im usually down there for it..but not going this year.....

Hannah, Was just reading your post about the flight over. My mate Geraldine used to live in Perth. We were asking her advice about flying to Australia when we were originally planning to go. She recommended the Dubai stop over. I think that it's Emirate Airlines or something like that. She said that their flights are great and the seating on the plane is much more comfortable and there is more room and the food's great. She said that the legroom on Quantas isn't as good, also the duty free in Dubai is supposed to be fantastic according to her. Hope that's of some help to you.

I'm reading all of your posts on music. I'm not in to the mad diddly I stuff but I do like the Chieftans and Enya and the Corrs . I love Clannad. Angie did I tell you that I would send you some cd's on Secret Garden. If I did, sorry I forgot all about it until now. I'm laughing at the stuff on Daniel O'Donnell. I can't stand him either!! Think he's too good to be true. Hannah we have loads of jokes over here about Wee Daniel!! LOL. I'm still a bit of an aging hippy too!! Blush Blush!!! I live Pink Flloyd and Supertramp and all that kind of stuff and I still love rock music!! The oldest swinger in town!! LOL. Like some of the new bands too. Love Coldplay and at the moment I'm listening to David Gray. Actually I hope that my neighbours like it too as it's blasting in my back garden. It'll give some of the drinkers in Rohan's something different to listen to!! LOL. Hannah I love some of the Australian bands too, INXS, Men at Work (Do you remember them) ? Brian Adams, John Farnham. Oh and I love Fleetwood Mac. Guess I like everything except Daniel!! LOL only kidding. I don't like Margo either!!! LOL Hannah she's Daniel's sister. I have a story something like Daniel's too Jacqui. Years ago my Mum wanted to go and see Foster & Allen, so I took her. We went up and asked for autographs at the end of the show and they were really standoffish and rude. Just wanted know were we going to buy their cd's. I felt like saying ' Not a hope in Hell, it was bad enough having to listen to them for the night' . It put me right off them. Mind you that's an awful long time ago when they were in their hay day. Not too long after they were on Top of the Pops. Do any of you remember the green leprachan outfits? LOL

Hippy...oh Fran, wait till you see me LOL...we'll be like two peas in a pod...I really need a makeover when it comes to fashion!!! It just isn't my thing at all..so I might need some fashion advice. I dress comfortable and by the sounds of the nenagh pub nights Fran we'd better have flat shoes on LOL!!! and ahem I'm looking forward to a wee tipple with you too missus Jacqui! ;D Fran as for your music taste ...again, we'll be grand!!! ;D Supertramp, ELO, Pink Floyd, Frampton, my god now your stirring me up so you are..bringing back the memories here. I went to their concerts out here, ELO was AMAZING...the night Frampton was here it had been raining all the week previously AND on the night...ROFL oh my goodness we ended up having 'mud slides' shenanigans, we were covered in mud though had an absolute ball so we did! and it was when the aroma wafted of greens. Yes also the aussie artists are some of my all time favourites also, Farnham perhaps peaked when Whispering Jack album came out - he never seems to age!!! INXS was huge here...and Brian Adams.. ah you've class Fran LOL...I adore his music...ah I'm away the canines are carrying on, time for walkies!! xox

well hannah mo chara, a ceili is usually done in a hall, and you would have a group playing trad music and you get to dance to it...the walls of limerick, the siege of ennis are 2 of the most favorite dances..its all done in big groups and they are very easy dances to do, you would pick it up in seconds..they are also done at weddings & big parties.....at my sisters wedding it was so much fun watching her hubbies rellies doing them...they are all from pakistan and it was mighty craic... a banquet is done in the castles & there are singers & musicians there and they entertain you while you eat...you eat only with your fingers no knives or forks used...Mead is the trad drink served, its a liquer made from honey...you can find it in tourist shops & the duty frees...the meat is usually a big suckling pig cooked over a spit...its a fab night out...check out www.shannonheritage.com put in BUNRATTY CASTLE that will give you a look at the costumes the entertainers wear and what the castle looks like... jacqui thats him, just couldnt think of his name..thank you..... I do remember those outfits fran...lol...gosh they were funny....no worries on the cds at all girl......

Hope they got their walk. Told you before that my cat hates it when I'm on the computer. She's glaring at me as I'm typing here!! I dont dress as hippyish any more, but still love he music. I can see you and my friend Annie getting on Hannah. She still into layers of clothes and really hippy clothes. Hannah you must be counting down the weeks now. Only two months to go now!! Way Hey. I'll have to warn all the publicans here that we'll be having a wobbly weekend!! LOL. Angie, Bunratty's not far from me here. Maybe we could arrange to meet up in Dirty Nellie's (Pub next door to Bunratty) when Hannah gets here. That wedding sounds gas Angie. I can't imagine all the Pakistani's Irish dancing!! LOL.

Jacqui, I'm actually going to be in the North for the August Bank Holiday, in Dungannon. There's a country music festival on (not really my kind of music) but anyway my friend Annie has a camper van and she's asked me to go with her in the camper for the weekend. Are you anywhere near there?

Fran the pups made sure we went walking..they think I'm odd when I'm here at the desk laughing I'm sure! That Country Festival in Dungannon sounds wonderful, och my mum's hometown and all!!!! (same here Fran country music isn't high on my list) but it still would be a great atmosphere, I'll just have to wait till next year I've modernised with fashion, every now and again I indulge in the 70's look..when you said Annie has a campervan..I thought I was pretty cool when I owned a Combi van once. Speaking about the Combi, here's the scene, three of us girlfriends years ago, just hopped into it off we were heading out for the night...next thing (its just going dark by the way) I noticed this dirty big huntsmen spider walking across windscreen ... screamed like a banshee so I did.. scared the bejesus outta my two friends, me hands trembling reaching to turn on the wipers .. feck me Fran it was on the INSIDE of the window screen!!!! feckin lunatics screaming and carrying on climbing out again... it being near on dark I says to them ..."If you think I'm getting back in there tonight...think again!!" ;D ...so us brave trio called a taxi ...next day I go out in the daylight with a can of insect spray to sort this long legged $$##@!&%@! spider out. One of the windows were slightly down, here's this stiff eight legged hairy monster lying on the ground near the passenger door... probably died of fright from us carrying on the night before. Oh there's other hair raising experiences I've had about spiders...when we're all together having a pint or two I'll recall them..feck I'm scaring meself here just thinking it!!!! Jacqui remind me which birthday this is for you and which date it is...I think its around mine?? Pauline's also if I recall rightly? Fran Dirty Nellie's sounds like a great meet up place...Laura would you be up for it also? Fran it will be a hoot to look forward to!
