Sandra hello
The great and good of Didsbury, Manchester would take exception to you calling it inner city! They'll be having a meeting at the rotary club over ciabattas to come and get you!
I suffer from terrible catholic guilt though it doesn't manifest itself in normal situations, say for example like running over a dog. It's things like forgetting to send someone a birthday card or feeling that I've said the wrong thing that can send me into a cold sweat and leave me needing to lie down. i can feel bad about anything if I put my mind to it for a minute!

I've never dressed as a nun to win a bet. Although I did dress in a chicken outfit the other week for a friends hen do.

Shontelle, hi. What an unusual name.
I have written quite a lot of comedy. I have written a few comedic radio plays, I'm working on a sit com and I've just written a trial script for a Channel 4 comedy drama. But I won't be trying stand up!

Hi Sharon
All of the characters that I write are fictonal however they do sometimes have elements of people I know of have met. It is funny when you meet people who say "You can have that, put that in a book" when they've just said something at best mildly pithy. The best way to deal with it is to smile and bring them to mind next time you're writing a pain in the bum character I find!

Hi Christine,
What do I generally do in a week? Well if I am working on a novel I try to do two thousand words a day. If I am writing a script then I don't set a word limit I just try to write as much as possible. But my days are nine to five, otherwise I would watch Trisha and eat ten meals a day if I didn't tell myself off and bolt the office door.

Hi Claire
Sorry. Yes at present they are just available in Ireland but my agent is working on a UK deal. In answer to your first question, I'm originally from Bradford, Yorkshire but lived in Dublin for a while where I began writing and moved back to Manchester (where I went to Uni) and have lived back here since 2002, although I do spend a lot of time in Ireland. I'm currently working on my third book, a two part TV drama, a sit com and a play for Radio 4. And another thing, wholly unrelated, i'm going to Las Vegas and San Fran tomorrow morning so if anyone has any tips they'd be greatly welcomed!

Have I ever gone out with someone like Declan in My Made-Up Life. No I haven't but the picture I had in my head when I was writing leads me to answer that I wouldn't mind!

Hello Shirley
I don't have a website as yet. Although I will in the summer. I keep looking at what to put on it and cringing - any suggestions? It will be annemarieoconnor.com though when it's finally up and running, that's the only bit that's organised!

Hi Helen
I love Marian Keyes because of her self depricating humour. I love Margaret Atwood because she is just an absolute wordsmith and makes me wonder how she does it when ever I read any of her books. I really like Armistead Maupin and will be taking all of the Tales of the City books to San Francisco to reread even though they are dog-earred as I've read them 100 times. And hundreds of others!

Oops, missed a question.
Have I ever been star struck? Yes, once. Recently and it was hugely embarrassing. I was at a book day organised by Sarah Webb in Dublin and Marian Keyes was being interviewed. I went over to say hello and when she spoke to me all I could say was "I like your hair" Ridiculous! I think she thought I was going to lick her face and she might have to call security. I apologised.

Hi Keira
Best bono story? The one where the woman had gone to see U2 in Manchester. She had waited all day to get a glimpse of her hero and as it was a sunny day she was wearing a vest top. As Bono got out of the car the crowd surged forward and she was pushed up against the railings and her boob popped out in full view of her idol. As Bono approached, the way that she had been pinned meant that she couldn't get to her rogue breast and put it back to bed. Bono came straight over to her and with a smile said, "Well?"

I've had a word with a few of the other authors and looked at their websites. Might get a web cam of me sitting in my dressing gown shouting at my computer, that might be a winner. What do you think?
Where does the catholic guilt come from? I was brought up Catholic. When I was eight I thought I was going to be a nun (seriously), I think it was the headgear. But my friends tell me that I suffer from terrible Catholic guilt. Keeps me in line though!

I've just turned thirty and I'm newly single with no children or pets. Although I am suddenly looking at children and wanting to steal them from prams - a worrying feeling I think that is know as the body clock beginning to tick. My hobbies are running, socialising and travelling when I find the time. Are you Irish or Dutch?
