A response to ABBY. All my books are available in Australia to my knowledge. I certainly had enough e-mails from there. Hope wherever you're staying tonight is good. Wish I was in Australia now myself.

Hi Cathy, Just got on line myself! Rushing round like the proverbial blue ___ fly, dealing with kids etc.
Anyway- well done on Skin Deep- I have to say I loved it - Some bits were laugh out loud funny. And yes, I have been that person having a bra fitting too! Cringe!
'Do we have any feeding bras Dolores?' What size NOreen?
"Ooh!"... looks through curtain at me.... "I dunno, Dolores, how big do they go???"
So how many scenes liek that are from personal experience?? any others you'd like to share??

Oh Many personal experiences, but the one about the bra is not the one your interested in...it's the 'falling in love' experience you want to know about isn't it? Own up! Oh well....get on with ith then, ask about it!!!

Hi May, Hope you got on in cafe? No I have no problem getting info at all, most of it is experience of life (always logged) and the rest is just listening, being astute, I don't do as much research, as I do just tune in with whatever is goin on about me.
For Cath, yes it went off but seems ok now.

Hi Catherine, Are you pleased with your story in the 'Moments' book? Do you find short stories harder than novels? Are you going to the launch at the end of the month? (if so, I'll see you there.) Best judi

Good idea! To sum up in a few words? This novel is about self acceptance/self love. There you have it! I have always been consumed by the daily bombardment that assail us through tv, video, advertising (bill boards, movies, t.v. papers etc) with its consistent negative message. Basically, we are buying into this lie 'You're not good enough'.....why you can't even have toothpaste now without it having a sexual angle...I do believe with the onslaught of 'Extreme Makeover', 'The Swan' and other such programmes clocking up huge rateings, we have gotten carried away, believing that if we fix our outer image, we will somehow cure all the ills within.....this is one big fat lie, as we all know. Skindeep explores this question among others. It doesn't just look at the pressure women feel, it looks at how men are being affected too. I used the plastiuc surgery route to explore the whole idea of self obsession/outer image and beauty.

Sorry to hear there was site problems, maybe try again sometime soon. I really like the sound of Skin Deep, not keen on the Extreme Makeover type shows.

Dear Catherine
I am so raging I missed the 13th, but I've been having internet problems at home for weeks -
I just have to tell you that you have written my favourite story of ALL TIME!!! The twenty-eighth day was an absolute scream!!
It appeared in the original Irish Girls about Town, and I swear if I've read it once, I've read it twenty times - I just keep coming back to it!!!
What's your secret?!
Leah
