Hi All! I'll only be able to pop in now and again- here's hoping that loads of you turn up to discuss Tracy's 'loving lucy'. I've read it, but I won't say anything. (Although those of you who've been reading the boards since the beginning may already have read my thoughts!!) Anyway, got to dash- have fun, will check in later!!
xx Catherine

Hi Claire, I'm only 1/3 of the way through it. I've been a bit busy with Christmas and getting ready to go away to see family, plus Tianna is teething so a bit clingy at the moment. It brought back memories of school actually trying to get it finished on time. I used to always leave my homework to the last minute also.

Well it looks like only Lisa and I at the moment to talk about the book, but will enjoy chatting to you too Claire. Tianna has just discovered that if you grab the end of the toilet paper you can pull it and lots of paper will appear.

Think of me as the poor relation. We're a bit tight on cash at the moment and I couldn't afford to buy it on the net. One of these I will have the book we are going to talk about, just not yet

God, there is only four of us, just went out to have a look to see how many were logged on. From reading all the posts for the past few weeks I was sure and defently read alot more people were interested in joining in, didnt you's? I know leah cant be here tonight, she has to work the late shift, god love her. she is going to come on and leave her views and thoughts though afterwards. Claire, could you not get your hands on a copy in time? I would have stuck one in the post for you missus, no problem at all! I sent one over to Leah, come to think of it, i dont think she would have been able to get her hands on it either. In future if you do- just shout girl okay, it wouldnt burn a huge hole in my pocket at all, my sister in law gets me great discount in the book shop and it can be mailed from work at an excellent price as well okay!I would not offer if it was a problem, god i would go strark raving crazy if i couldnt get my hands on all the latest releases. Now, the book...... Girls I enjoyed it really did. ;D ;D ;D Thought it was excellent the way it was written and was able to relate/empathaise (sp??) with characters also. Now, there were parts though that left me feeling a wee bit frustrated and maybe a little bit of far-fetched-ness, but all in all, when i put it down after finishing the whole thing, i did more enjoy than not, you know. Claire, you sure it wont spoil it for you us talking about it in detail?

Only 1/3 of the way through, sorry. I think it is a good book but not one that I can't put down. But maybe that is because I have so much else on at the moment that I haven't had much chance to just sit down and read. I just can't seem to feel anything with this book. With Tracey's first book, at the beginning my heart was racing and I felt short of breath and I could really feel what the character was. But this time around I don't sense the panick that Tory must be in trying to find Lucy. It just feels a bit cruisy to me and if I was the childminder I'd be with the mother having sleepless nights and doing everything I could to help find her.

Oh i know claire, were the same, broke aint the word! This time of year is dreadful too, but like I said if it wasnt for my terribly considerate and extremely generous sister in law i wouldnt have HALF the amount of books i do have you know.
Catherine, you still here?

I did find that too Nic, while I was reading it there were times when I got really frustrated and was shouting at them 'go to the bloody police', that really annoys me in both films and books. like, surely the police can be so discreet and senstive in issues like that and because it was so out of the blue and totally out of characater for Lucy's dad to take her, you know? By the way, what was lucy's dads name again?
I know what you mean about Tracy's first book having that breathstopping effect on you while reading it and I dont know what it was with Loving Lucy, i think it would be a bit strong to say it didnt actually have that, but the 'urgency' and the 'sense of extreme panic, total fear and complete helplessness' wasnt really there either was it?
