This is the story of Margo Hunter who is travelling through France with her bad tempered husband when she decides that she has had enough of his verbal abuse! After one particularly vicious encounter when he slates her for not being able to read a map she leaves him high and dry at a service station and starts to walk - she doesn't know where she's going or where the road will lead.
The first person she meets is Grainne, an Irish horse handler who is a very funny straight talking character who will appear many times through the course of the book. She gives Margo a lift to Paris where all sorts of adventures begin.
Margo finds herself making the transformation from medical secretary to PA to a former Parisian fashion icon in a matter of weeks. She will also form relationships with her new employers sons and find herself living and working in a country chateau over the summer months where she truly does begin to find herself!
I really enjoyed this book! It was a wonderful light hearted read with lots of interesting characters and I loved the transformation in Margo from downtrodden meek and mild housewife to a girl with a back bone!
There are other hidden surprises and secrets in it and I loved the element of suspense which kept your interest peaked the whole way through! I also absolutely loved the ending - I thought it was very clever indeed!
A very worthwhile book ladies - perfect for the beach!
Thank you very much Susanne, I wish you every success with it!

Thanks for that lovely review, Fionn.
Just back from a lovely holiday in Croatia, what a beautiful country! I have just found out that Margo was on televison all by herself while I was away. Kieran Grimes, the tv 3 reviewer, said some very flattering things about the book, which was lovely to hear.

I did enjoy this book and flew through it. Having had a little problem with the motorways in Austria and not being able to find our position on the map, we were both very frustrated, putting it mildly! I could see just how Margo could up and leave her husband at a petrol station and walk away. Some of these stations are huge and you could easily loose each other.
I enjoyed the story and I can imagine plenty of rich people still trying to live the rich life, come what may keeping up the old lifestyle. I liked Margo and just wanted her to find peace with herself, whether or not she found love. I didn't like Fiona at all, most annoying person and a down right b*tch. There were some funny moments, all in all a lovely holiday read
