Hi. Do any of you know much about facebook? Is it possible to see who has been looing at you?

I think it might be possible to block people Nicc but I don't know that much about it! Samantha Mumba (Irish singer) was interviewed recently and said that she had had to block a guy who was stalking her from accessing her page??!!

We had this discussion at work Nicc and we tried to work out a way of seeing who is looking at your profile, but we couldn't - that's not to say there isn't a way though. Maybe try Googling your question to see, or logging a question with Yahoo! answers.

As far as I'm aware there is no way of checking to see who is looking at your profile if it's an open profile.
However you set the security so if you make it so that only Friends can view your full profile, only they will be able to see it. You can also do it so that people can have limited access. It's up to you.

Thanks girls. The reason I asked was because a friend of mine has been having trouble with this girl (she keeps trying to hook up with my friends boyfriend) and I went on Facebook to see what she looked like and I couldn't view her profile or anything but she sent a msg to me saying 'sorry I don't know who you are'. i'm sure I didn't try to add her as a friend or anything so how did she know I looked and why send me that msg? Weird! Plus it would be a bit embarrasing if your old high school crushes could see that you have been looking them up.

Hi,
I know it's been a long time since I last visited (I've been extremely busy having a baby and moving house).
Everyone has probably long since forgotten this thread but I've just been browsing.
There is an application on Facebook called the a-counter, whereby if you invite friends you can unlock the people who have been looking at you - I was horrified as I have been rather nosy myself!!!!

Nicc, I've just been reading all the details on availability on Facebook etc, and it seems you can limit those who can access your profile etc, but unless they leave a note, you can't tell who has been looking, especially if it is set to 'everyone' having access. As yet, I haven't been tempted. My husband has a Facebook thingy, but I find it's all just a bit silly and juvenile...some of the notes left for him by the young girls in his office are just bizarre. A guy I met while working here in Vic, missed out on a really good job he wanted because the potential boss looked up his Facebook site and didn't like what he read! So it can be dangerous in lots of various ways. But to those who love it and enjoy it, good on you and I hope it all works well for you.

It can work against you alright, I've heard of that kind of thing happening too here. The daughter of a friend went for an interview but they had looked her up on the net and found out loads about her. You do have to be careful about what you do on these things

To be honest with you Facebook is a bit of a waste of time but it is a good way of keeping in touch with people. Although if I'm honest I really only use it for the games that are available which are great to pass the time with when you're bored.
And as long as you keep your profile closed to anyone other than friends then it should be perfectly safe.

Hi everyone, Well my husband told me last night that there is a way you can keep an eye on who is looking at your space ...but he didn't go into any explanations as his mobile rang....again!! I have been thinking of creating my own website, as I think I'd have more control over that than a Facebook or My Space thingy. What do you think?
