Charlie,
i tried to read 'The Time Traveller's Wife' but never got beyond the first few pages. My brain wasn't switched on enough at the time. I've heard that it is a fantastic read. I will be interested to hear what you make of it. Hope you've managed to put that Melissa Hill down and get some sleep!

Hi Oonagh,
I have to tell you about a new author called Carrie Adams. I bought her book, The Godmother, today for a friend but it looked good and I need a bit of a lift so I started reading it. And it's so funny and close to the bone. It's about a woman who's Godmother to four children, but has none of her own. It's quite sad and a little depressing in parts (so far, I'm only on the 4th chapter) but well worth a read. Good one for night duty I'd say! I'll hang on to it for you and send it on when I'm finished.
Hope everyone is well.
Abby - how are you? I was thinking of you just the other day and remembering the lovely things you and Claire sent me. What sweeties! Makes all the hard work and hair tearing out worth it.
Sorry I haven't been on the boards for an age - babies and work - you understand I'm sure.
Best,
SarahXXX

Lovely to hear from you Sarah, Its tax time for the bee business here and I've just starting learning to do "The books" so I've been spending all my afternoons trying to figure it all out and haven't been doing much reading. I have quite a pile up of books to read at the moment, although not many Irish gals.

LOL Unfortunately that doesn't work in this house with the kids. Either Zac starts crying or TJ follows me in. I had a good idea today, I was going to start going for a quick walk in the morn cause I need to lose a few kilos and I was telling Andrew my plan and he said 'daylight savings is coming soon so if you want to go of a night and I'll wash the dishes and get the kids ready for bed' Well I was thinking about it today and thought I could say I was going for a walk and really just take my book and sit in the park for an hour and read in peace and quiet.

Oh Nicc that sounds like heaven. I sometimes do that with the kids, take them to the local playground and my book under my arm, love reading outdoors

Yeah can't wait til the kids are older and can run around together so I can just sit and read while they play. We have a park just on the corner of our street (like not even 2 mins walk) but I hardly go at all. I'm just to tired or busy some days and TJ just wants me to chase her all the time if we go, just don't have the energy.

Oh and to keep on topic, I just finished a book by a dutch writer about a friendship of two boys. One is very clever, quick with numbers, can remember everything that happens, what he reads and hears. The other is just an ordinary kid and for some reason they become great pals, then loose site of each other and some years later meet again. It was lovely reading about Amsterdam and places that are no longer around.
Don't know what to start at the mo, picked up a book the other day called Evie by Lynda Page, think that is her name. A lot of info in the begining but I think it will get more interesting

Good night Nicc. Sleep well! It was lovely to chat to you!
PS. Have you ever read 'The Hours' by Micheal Cunningham or seen the movie? Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore are in it. Julianne Moore plays the character of a mother, with a little boy and all she wants to do is stay in bed and read. In the end she leaves her husband and child, to go and work in a library!

Thanks Oonagh! I am now over page one hundred into Sex, Lies, and Fairytales, and am really enjoying the description of Pixie Pirelli's life as a best selling author. It's fascinating! I also love visualising the village of Kilrowan. I want to be there!
