Absolute Beginners - Mairead O'Driscoll Lucy Dalton wants to escape her frumpy, mundane life. Her job is boring, her social life non-existent and her mother is still trying to make her into the wonderful daughter she’s always dreamed of. Rosa Mooney is a walking disaster at whatever career she tries. Sick of being treated like a child, she is determined to be taken seriously at last. Kate Lewis has fled her old life for the tranquillity of running a small health store, having blown her chance at happiness. Agnes Cotter has been at the beck and call of bullying sister Beatrice for years. The genteel persona that she presents to the world masks a life of drudgery and bitterness.
None of them expect, when they sign up for a gourmet cookery course, that learning to cook will be the best therapy any of them could ever hope for.
Can these “absolute beginners” find new beginnings?
Hello all. As you can see it is finally time for the second book! Absolute beginners will be released on July 21st. I will launch the book in Midleton Books on that day at 11am. All Irish Girls welcome!
Mairead

Hiya Mairead, Great to hear from you - and to hear about Absolute Beginners! Looking forward to reading it... It seems like Pebble Cove was only out a couple of months ago, and you were telling us about the new novel, and now here it is! Wishing you great success with it! We'll have to meet up soon, and I look forward to your launch in Midleton! Cheerio for now, Renate

Hi Emma and Renate, Great to hear from you - hopefully Absolute Beginners will do well in the bookshops. Thanks to both of you for the quick replies. My poor husband has spent all evening trying to get the cover up so you've really made it worth his while! Emma, my next mission is to get hold of Crazy For You for a good read - I've been restricting my reading time in order to get Absolute Beginners finished. Renate, we must get out for a drink in Cork sometime soon with Mary Malone, Mary O' Sullivan and Oonagh - Mary M might have been on to you already about it.Best wishes. Mairead

Best of luck with the new book Mairead!

I agree with Renate, it doesn't seem that long ago that Pebble Cove was out. The new book sounds good, will have to order it or borrow from someone. Good luck with it all (not that you'll need it).

Hi All, Thanks a million for the posts - I'm really starting to get excited now. I just organised my launch today so all welcome - I'd love to put some faces to the names! I'm having it in Midleton Books who have been absolutely great to me (God bless the local bookshops) on the 21st of July. There's a signing at 11am and then an official launch at 6pm with a little swig of champers to get things off the ground. I hope it'll be a lively evening so for any of you who are in the vicinity, drop in for a little tipple. Talk soon, Mairead.
