Margo Hunter comes to an unexpected crossroad in her life when, on an impulse, she walks out on her husband on a French motorway following their umpteenth row about her inability to read a roadmap. A chance lift with a truckdriver taking horses to a chateau in the Loire valley (with an initial detour via Paris) pitches Margo into another life. Will her husband find her before Margo finds herself? Meet Grainne, the truckdriver with attitude, Milady, the ageing French beauty with a secret, her sons, kind consderate Francois and wild but handsome Jacques and a number of other intriguing characters and find out what happens to Margo when she walks out of her life and, like Alice behind the looking glass, into another existence. It will be in all Irish bookshops on May 8. Also available on www.amazon.co.uk. I have put the first chapter on a bebo page: www.findingmargo.bebo.com

Thanks Claire! No, I'm not having a launch this time. The last one was so big and all my friends came, so I thought I'd give them a rest this time! I will be signing books in Dublin some day next week and if anyone wants to meet me for a drink afterwards, I'll be happy to meet up (and sign the book, of course). I'll be traipsing all over town, and I'll post my schedule in case anyone happens to be nearby.
I'll also be going to other parts of Ireland to sign and will let you all know where and when, for those who don't live in Dublin.
I wrote a piece about mapreading (why women can't read maps) in the June issue of The Gloss, which will be out at the same time.
I'm getting really excited! I have waited so long to see this one published, as I had actually finished it by the time Fresh Powder was published last year. I'll keep ypu posted on any promotions and media appearances.

Thanks, girls! So glad you liked the first chapter. The book will hit the shops on May 8. As for my schedule, so far I know I will be going around the major bookshops in Dublin on Tuesday May 15, followed by drinks somewhere with my publisher and their team. If anyone would like to meet up then for more celebrations, let me know and we could organise something...
There is a booksigning in Easons in Clonmel on the 18th and I think I'll be going to Cork the following week. Looking forward to the welcoming comittee!

Finding Margo is featured in the new (June) issue of The Gloss, which is out today. You will find an article about map reading and women on page 38, which I wrote to tie in with the book. Read it and show it to the man in your life. It might be a good thing for him to find out what can happen if he isn't nice under that kind of pressure...

Is the gloss a magazine??

Post by Susanne O'Leary on May 10, 2007 21:17:57 GMT
Yes, Oons, it's fairly new. About a year ago, the original editors of IMAGE left and started their own magazine called 'The Gloss', with the idea to create a magazine with a bit more than just beauty and fashion. It's very good with a lot of excellent articles about everything under the sun. I call it 'the thinking woman's glossy'. A little like Vanity Fair in style.

Sounds like a good magazine. Vanity Fair is always a great read. I found Image mag was gone very drab of late. Prudence is one of my favorites.
