Dreadful man, some people can be so crule. But it's the way Sarah put him on paper, there are really people like that, smallminded..
Don't worry Shirley, you two are a great match! It will plain sailing

Im only joking with you shirley!!! i hope u didnt take offence girl!! why what did you say? She's not backing out now. Right about the book what else did I like. I loved the guy Mia fell in love with and the way he saw straight through her friend. And I like that Alva saw the error of her ways and how she was to live with

I think I've made all my comments now. Karen will also add her comments when she's read the book. I know we had lots of other comments on the book on various other threads, so maybe we could merge them all at some stage!

Well I finally have a chance to come on here and leave my thoughts. Thank you Claire for lending this book so I could join in. I enjoyed reading this book and i think i read it in about 2or 3 days (pretty good when i have a 2 yr old and 4 mth old). Like Claire i was also singing along to the songs. They are vey catchy, ABBA, aren't they. I did figure out early that Wendy was Mia's mother. Just by the way she acted and then Des mentioned that the boyfriend had left something behind to remind her of him. i thought it took too long to get to the accident. I would've liked them to find out about Mia and Wendy earlier on and then there could have been more flash backs into Wendy's past, the relationship she had, more on Mia's father, the decision she made to have her mother raise her. i also would have liked to read more about Gemma. I thought Ronan was lovely. And to know about Mia and be OK about it showed his love for wendy. i also felt that the ending was a bit rushed. Sorry girls i have a mind block and can't think if there was anything else to add. i did enjoy this book though but ithink there could've been more to it. ;D

Sorry I missed this months book club.
Its been a few months since I've read this book but it still sticks out in my mind - not just for the writing but also for the wonderful cheery cover and the clever way each chapter was titled after an Abba song. I still have a couple of Sarah's other books to read so am looking forward to that. Any recommendations?
Read 'Take A Chance' in a couple of days. It was a great story and when I fully got into it I couldn't put it down. My favourite character was Mia. Wasn't her flat mate such a pain! Why do people intrude on others like that?! There wasn't a lot of information about Gemma but that didn't bother me much. Loved the ending
