Okay girls what about rolling January and February into one? Say our next meeting is Thursday 24th February 2005? Whats the exact date that Never say Never is due out? I know a few people would like to review it but if its not out in time we may have to choose something else. Any ideas? How about my fav Tina Reilly?

well I did suggest that we pick an old favorite that most of us might still have on our book shelves, or have at least read. Maybe someting from Marian Keyes or Maeve Binchy and leave 'Never say Never' until March/April when morepeople have had the chance to order and read before they come here. And like Lisa said we all need to make more suggestions, it shouldn't be just left up to her. I think that we should at least try to list one old fav and a new one that we are looking for ward to reading. End of feb sounds good to me, seeing as we also have a nice chat to look forward to at the begining of feb. OK I'll stop now

Hiya Claire, yes that sounds like a good idea? Would everyone be in agreement with that then?
So, what would it be? Need to start throwing a few ideas in.
So were all in agreement though for the next book club meeting on THURSDAY 24TH FEBRUARY 2005?
Now, books............? Ive read all Keyes and Binchy so any of them is fine with me.

Well the Binchy book that got me reading the rest was 'Circle of Friends' . I first saw the film and loved it. But the book was fantastic, a hundred times better than the film. So that would be my suggestion. As for Ms. Keyes I've read 'Watermelon' ,'Rachels Holiday' and I can't remember the other one. But she is so funny. As for new releases, I'm not sure what's coming out, so I can only go by what's on here. That's all from mefor now

HI. END of Feb sounds good to me. I have most of Marian Keyes and a few of Maeve's but not Circle of friends though shouldn't be to hard to get, even if I have to go to the second hand book shop. We could also do a Patricia Scanlan because I have a few of hers waiting to be read. and I'm just about to start Onion Girl by Tina, I'm easy either way but think we need to set a deadline for choosing a book so we can all get organised, say by the end of the week, what does everyone else think?

What other Bibchy books have you got ? I've read most of them but don't have them all in the house. I have two Scanlon ones at the mo, 'two for joy' and 'dubble wedding' . Have you read either of them, Nic
And I agree about the deadline, if we keep going on like this it will be Christmas again ;D ;D ;D

I Two for Joy but haven't read it yet and I have Light a penny candle, Dublin 4, Glass Lake Tara Road, Scarlett Feather Echoes and Nights of Rain and Stars. I got most of them from my Gran when she passed away as she was a binchy fan and my sister gave me the new one for Christmas.

I really enjpoyed 'two for joy', more than 'dubble wedding', so I'm pushing for that. I haven't read Dub. 4 or penny candle, but I loved tara road and echoes is great. What about Under the old beach tree, I think that's what it's called, that's another good one.
Well we've put up some good suggestions lets see what the others say?

I looked in the inside of maeve's latest and couldn't see one of that name but there was one called The Copper Beech. She also has a web site www.maevebinchy.comshall check it out later. Maybe Catherine can see about putting a link up for it. Wish there was a site for Patricia Scanlan.
