Hi
Just bought and started this, Roisin's fourth book, I think. It's in Dunnes and Tesco so a good price dip. (Cheaper than a bottle of Baileys) So far, it's intriguing. I can't see where it's going to go, which isn't always true, so I'll keep reading. Anyone read any more by her?

oh, you've got me interested, Katie. I read Roisin's last book, THe Last Week in May, and enjoyed it. What's the blurb on the back of this book?

I read this book a couple of weeks ago. I have to say that I enjoyed it. I finished it in a couple of nights. I have also read The Last Week In May and loved that too. Roisin also had another book that I loved but the name of it is escaping me now. I think it might have been called The Daisy Chain, but I'm not too sure. I remember reading it and really enjoying it though. I'll look for it and verify the name of the book and give you a synopsis.

Behind the brightly coloured doors of sleepy Miller's Avenue live people with very complicated lives...
When Yvonne in number 7 joins an online dating website, shes looking for something more than friendship but after a series of disastrous encounters, decides to shut down her account. But is she shutting out her only chance of finding love? Next door in number 8, Dan signs up for a cookery course, determined to move on after his wifes desertion. But as his lemon souffl rises, so does his interest in someone close to home will his fingers get burnt second time around? Further along in number 9, Kathryn is struggling to keep her marriage together despite the best efforts of her interfering mother-in-law. As tension grows between the two women, Kathryn wonders if Grainne will finally succeed, as she realises that she may never give her husband Justin what he wants. As the drama unfolds along Millers Avenue, the inhabitants learn that the things you most yearn for can often be found on your own doorstep.

I hugely enjoyed the two mother-in-law characters. I think Roisin let rip with them!

I love her characters, you feel like you really know them well and she is brilliant at keeping you turning the pages. Her first book was brilliant too.

I finished this book today and it was a tonic - exactly what I needed. A good read that kept me turning the pages and didn't irritate me in anyway. I really enjoyed the idea of three houses in a row and all that was happening in them. I think Dan may have been my favourite character. I loved what he tried to do with Piccasso. That was very funny. She sure got a lot into the one novel - there was so much going on, and lots of characters, but it all came together and worked, I thought. I am very grateful to writers, like Roisin Meany for the pleasure they give me. There's nothing like getting lost in a book - I love it!
N.B. I would have liked more on Dan at the end. It wrapped up a bit too quickly for me.
