Omigod girls do yourselves a favour and get this book - it really is a great read - funny, sad at times, and the characters are so real and their individual stories so intriguing that you don't want to put the book down! I started this last Wednesday and finished it last night!
May O'Callaghan gives up her nine to five job in a doctor's office after a failed romance and decides to earn a living by doing odd jobs for people including gardening, painting and cleaning and along the way she meets some very interesing people.
The people living in May's street also have their secrets - there's Pam and Jack who to outsiders seem happy but Pam is keeping a terrible secret from her friends. Then there's Paul and the gorgeous Francesca but is she enough for him? Shaun and Bernard the quirky gay couple next door who are happy until disaster strikes. There is also Philip, May's grumpy hard to plese father and then there is the delectable postman who she doesn't know or does she.
Pure class!! Well done Roisin!

Yes, a good read for this time of the year. Makes me want to go and plant lots of lovely smelling flowers. And such a pretty cover too!

You should read her next book as well Katie - it's called The People Next Door!

I've now read The Last Week of May and the People Next Door and loved both of them. Got Putting out the stars from Bookmooch so that's next in my TBR pile.
I think there is one more she has written which I've got to look out for.

I loved the connection of the necklace with the different characters in the book.

Yes, I agree. I think the necklace link worked very well.
