Hi Charlie, I began that book and was intrigued by the way in which it was written, but when the children were seperated I found it very dark and didn't want to read it anymore, so I stopped. I think it is one that I will come back to.

Hi Meg It's a brillant story about joe, bessie & fanny who climb a magical tree into a faraway land. I even wrote a short story called would you believe? as a homage to writers like Blyton & C.S. Lewis who fuel children's imagination Laura

I remember that one too...i loved it.... I know you have Aunt fanny in the famous five...its such a strange name...and speaking of the famous five for those you have the disney channel there is a new cartoon coming on to it shortly and its them....a very flash looking cartoon and they all have electronic gadgets...just doesnt seem the same..but Im going to watch it anyway just to see what its like...see if they have the same kind of adventures..hopefully they will..... ;D

I've never read any of Joanne Harris books. I happened to come across her website today and it looks pretty good. I love the title's of her books. Not all of her books are for children only the latter ones I think. www.joanne-harris.co.uk/

i didnt know she wrote for kids too susan..i like her stories...
i watched the 'new' famous five, they arent the same they all have different names although the aunt was called george so maybe they are a 2nd generation??? was alrite, the kids didnt really like it at all....

girls just wanted to let you know about this site, I get the james patterson news letter through my email, and he sent one the other day about how to get children to read..and he recommended a site called readkiddoread.com very good site for childrens books for all ages.
