Sounds good, Karen. Thanks for that. What do you like about it? Is it the characters, the theme??? The characters are all likable especially the main one and the storyline is great too. I'm loving it and I'm hoping to finish it this evening!

I'm actually really organized this year. Still have to get a few things but know what I'm getting so it's easy. I have to look for something for one of my nieces though. I did have something for her but I kept looking at it and thought Tianna would love that so I'm, sorry, Santa, is giving it to her instead. I'm about half way through A French Affair and loving it.

I'm in a strange mood lately and am flying through the books. I couldn't get into Changing Places at first but i finished it Sunday evening. I've now started Last Summer in Acarida by Deirdre Purcell. It's told in the narritive but what has happened i don't yet know. The story is being told by 3 different people, women, all good friends in their late 40's early 50's. They are each telling the story as they see it. It's brilliantly done as you sit in the head of each of the women and you really get a feel for them. I found it hard going in the begining because I don't like the first character Tess, and it seems to involve her the most. The other two ladies are very interesting. I'll you all know later how I get on with it

i just found this about the book i'm now reading
The tension is palpable as Tess and Jerry Brennan wait for the police to arrive. To the outsider, they had led charmed lives - until that last summer holiday in the heavenly village of Collioure in the south of France.
Now, Jerry has been charged with misdemeanours that will mean the end of his successful career. For Tess, the consequences of her innocent actions that summer are becoming devastatingly clear.
Meanwhile, her two friends, Maddy and Rita, are also reeling. Maddy is struggling with alcohol in an attempt to cope with the behaviour of her husband, while big, warm-hearted Rita is shocked to the core at the confession of her doting Ricky.
Last Summer In Arcadia is Deirdre Purcell's ninth novel, the remarkable story of three women, three marriages, and the triumph of friendship.

Sounds interesting, Claire.
I'm not really reading anything at the moment. I think I have too much going on in my brain. I keep picking up 'The Five People that You Meet in Heaven' and then putting it down again. Everything seems too challenging. I think I'm best with picture books for the moment! I bought my sister 'A Christmas Carol' illustrated by PJ Lynch for Christmas today. I will read it carefully so that she doesn't notice. I love this story and the pictures are beautiful.

Recently finished The Swallow and the Hummingbird by Santa Montefiore...sounds boring, but it was a great read. Set in England and in Argentina, it was worth the read....I love stories that tell a great family story rather than just a slick romance or run of the mill break up followed by the 'pick me up and have another romance' type of book. This one didn't disappoint. Then I read Barbara Delinsky's 'Looking for Peyton Place' which was set in New England in US and delved into pollution caused by companies not getting rid of their toxic wastes in the correct way. Another good read and quite nail biting at times. Currently reading 'Far From Over' by Sheila O'Flanagan....not bad so far...about 1/3 of the way in.
