No excuses this time ladies (and gents if there's any!!) Plenty of notice for our next meeting! I think we had agreed back in January that we would do Melissa Hill's Never say Never. It had given everyone plenty of notice to beg, borrow or steal a copy of it! Nic, Joan & Claire did you all manage to order it in? If anyone has any problems with doing this one or would like to suggest maybe a different book, please feel free!! Would love some suggestions girls! Thanks, L x

I'm sorry, I'm not going to make it for the chat - going on our annual two day sailing trip, leaving bright and early tomorrow morning, just when you will start chatting. Anyway, I am just rereading Never Say Never and honestly enjoying it just as much as the first time round. I like being able to see where the double meanings are and the hints as to what actually happened.
Actually, I have a question for all you Irish ladies regarding the book. I realise that Leah doesn't put her L's on when she's driving as a learner, but she seems to be so blase about still driving even though she's just a learner and hasn't passed her test - are you allowed to drive by yourself as a learner in Ireland? If not, I find it a bit unlikely that she wouldn't have been caught by now, especially as she's such a terrible driver!
Have a lovely Easter everyone - I may pop in tomorrow night to have a look. I refuse to sleep on the boat - that's one of the conditions of our doing the sailing bit - hubby is the sailor. Mind you, I'll probably be so knackered, it'll be straight to bed. Looks like the weather's improving, thank goodness - we had terrible winds and rain the other day.

No I won't be able to make it either as we are going to Canberra and Andrew wants to leave after breakfast. It's funny you should mention about the driving Joan as I was thinking the same thing. In Australia when you are learning to drive you have to display an L plate both front and back of the car and have a licenced driver with you. I really enjoyed the book but I will admit that I did have a few sneak peeks at the ending while reading. I just couldn't wait to see what the twist was (I'm not very good with surprises). But I still loved reading it!

Lisa don't you dare desert me! I'll be there. Driving in Holland is terrible. You are only allowed to take lessons, not one else is allowed to teach. It costs afortune nd that's why I don't have one. If I remember rightly in Ireland you have to have a full licenced driver the first year you are learning or on your first provisonal licence, on the sceond year you may drive alone but with plates and on the third you have to apply for the test. Joan you have no idea how bad they drive in Ireland, so one little learner would not stand out Joan and Nic, I hope you both have a wonderful Easter weekend, it's a pity you both can't be here. Don't eat too much chocolate eggs now ladies. see everyone else tonight Claire

Hi girls, lucky ye going sailing and other exotic places! Re the licence thing, you definitely have to display the L plates until you've passed your test and as far as I know you need a qualified driver with you when you're on your first provisional but may drive unaccompanied after that............I'm fairly sure this is correct.
I've loved Never say Never and feel she is really clever with her twist. My fav character was Olivia and my heart went out to Robin........peanut allergy sounds horrific, doesn't it?

Seeing as we both haven't read the book yet, shalll we try and get a conversation going anyway? What books have you read lately and really enjoyed. I've just finished one from Nicolas Sparks and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. A lovely romantic story without being too soppy if you know what I mean. At the mo ment I'm reading the 4 book from the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. A great laugh.

I know it's nothing to do with this months bookclub but I just happened to notice that Penny Vincenzi's latest book 'Sheer Abandon' hasn't been getting fantastic reviews. I find this hard to believe as I loved all her others! but according to Gemma Price of the Sunday Independent 'it fails to impress'!!!!!

And Charlie, Idon't know much about computers so you don't have to say sorry to me about anything I'm guessing half of these things as I'm going along

Hi Claire, thats the one. I'll have to buy it for curiosity's sake. Apparently the storyline is quite predictable but we will have to wait and see. . .
Hi Charlie, don't let the above one or two bad reviews put you off another one of her books you might enjoy is 'Into Temptation'; a great read. By the way i'm no Bill Gates either!!!!!!!!!
