Going to sign off myself folks. Thanks Judi. I think having an on line interview and book club at the same time is a great idea because sometimes it gets a bit boring waiting for people to post. This way you can flit from one thread to the other. Maybe we should do it like this in the future. What do you think Claire? Anyway, nite all,MarisaX

Ok, it's definitely past my bedtime. Football is over, and there are signs of life from the television room. Am signing off now. Thanks to everyone who joined in. If anyone has a burning question (or even just a vague inquiry) feel free to post away, and I'll check back in tomorrow. Good night.

Hi Judi, Sorry I missed your interview last night. Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying 'Alice'. It's very well written, funny and touching. Congratulations! As a children's book reviewer I read a huge amount of children's books every year - and in 'Alice' you've created something special. Keep writing the children's books, please! We need more children's authors. Maybe a teenage one??? With best wishes and good luck for the Children's Book Festival, Sarah XXX

Hi Judi, just getting back to you now, thanks a million for your answers and from what Sarah says, you are on to a winner with 'Alice'. Perhaps you could allow her to 'grow' in the next few books. My writing tutor (Bernadette Leach) wrote six children's books about Emma (based on her daughter who was 11 when she began, I think). Now, Emma is getting married and Bernadette is working on a mother of the bride novel..........allowing Emma to be the main character once more!
well done anyway, I tried to get 'Alice' in Porters, Cork, but couldn't find it, I'll be in Easons later and will get it there. My niece will love it even if my own lads (17 and almost 14 ) feel there too old! talk soon, Mary.

Thanks Sarah and Mary for your kind words. My children are just now hitting their teens, and if I'm not too frazzled, I'm sure I'll have plenty of material for teen novels. Best Judi
