I have to say I loved this book I read it in one sitting..I thought the grandmother bernadine was a fantastic character...when she told james that she did indeed love him when he was dying I was crying...it was so wonderful the way her love did grow for him even though it was an arranged marriage...my heart went out to her when she saw michael again, i suppose she had a fantasy life in her head and it just proved the point that the grass is'nt greener on the other side...
I agree that you would have to be totally in love when you marry otherwise it wont work...im living experience of that...i waiting for my divorce...lol....
I have cooked ham in coke loads of times and I prefer it to the old way..it tastes amazing..i saw Nigella lawson doing it and thats why I tried it...you boil it in the coke with an onion, then when its cooked put brown sugar and maple syrup onto it and place in the oven....its gorgeous much nicer that boiling it in water..gives it a lovely colour as well....the kids gobble it up...oh and i love making brown bread too.....i use my mums receipe....my mum taught me how to bake and i usually stick to her way of doing things....
