Hi all,
For various reasons, I've moved the new forum to a dedcated site, rather than have to rely on pro-boards for hosting.
Click on the new banner above to see the new site- join up and get posting!

I'll leave this board active for a while, but then I'll block new posts, and just leave it up so you can check back on old posts.

I couldn't transfer all the old posts to the new board because the database belongs to pro-boards and I can't access them. (one of the reasons I've moved the site.)

I have more flexibility with the new forum, so all suggestions are welcome, but bear with me- there's still only one of me!

Enjoy the new forum

xx catherine

Thanks Catherine. I hope you can transfer some of the the threads in Writing and Getting Published section. I find reading over them helpful. Especially the Faith thread, Submissions, Writing a Synopsis etc. Oh, they're are many!

Hi Megan,
I'm afraid I can't actually transfer posts- the database is owned by the host site and they don't give access to their server. (It's actually one of my reasons for moving the forum to its own hosted site)
But what can be done is copying and pasting the topics into the new forum. eg: copy each post to Word or notepad and then start a new post in the new board and transfer the whole thread into a single post.
I don't intend to delete the old board, I just didn't like the idea that someone else could- for example if the company was bought out or something.

xx c :)

I'm so glad we'll still be able to access the old boards for reading - I know I'll still be checking back on all the great threads on Writing and Getting Published from time to time. I think it would really be worth copying and pasting some of them into the new forum. There are loads that are too valuable to ever risk losing. The Writing and Getting Published section has helped me so much in the past, and continues to do so. I'm happy to do some of the copying and pasting anyway, it's well worth the time!

Catherine,

I understand that we can't have the old posts from the Writing and Publishing section on the new Forum, but I see no section at all for Writing and Publishing. That is the most important topic for me on our forum. Will you be inserting a Writing and Publishing section on the new site ?
